How can I contact Inmar?

To order containers over the phone or for general California sharps program inquiries, call 1-888-371-0717 or email take-back@inmar.com.

I have more than one address (mailing, physical, PO Box). Which address should I list?

Please list your mailing address or PO Box where you receive your mail. Sharps units are sent out via United States Postal Service (USPS).

What do I do with a full container and how do I package the units?

Once the container is full, please place the container back in the original packaging. The original packaging contains a pre-paid, pre-addressed label that can be placed in any USPS outgoing mail. For packaging instructions, please refer to the document included with mailback unit titled “ARXG Take Back Solutions Instructions”.

Do I automatically get sent a new sharps mailback unit?

No, units do not get automatically sent out to program users when full containers are received at destruction without placing a new order. Users can either utilize safemedicinedrop.com or the portal (listed below) to order more containers. There is no automated system for when inventory is running low.

I ordered a container, when can I expect to receive it?

For orders placed on www.safemedicinedrop.com, containers will be received within 5 business days. For orders placed on the bulk ordering portal https://portal.americanrxgroup.com/inmar/ please allow 7-10 business days to receive bulk quantities of sharps waste container mailback units.

I lost the mailback return packaging. What should I do?

Email take-back@inmar.com with your name, address, and number of mailback units you wish to mail and any other pertinent information.

What documentation is required when handing out sharps waste containers?

As of now, there is no requirement for documenting the distribution of sharps waste containers. Do not collect any patient information outside of what is required to request a sharps mailback unit on www.safemedicinedrop.com.

BULK ORDERING SITES ONLY:

I spoke with a sales rep from Inmar. When can I expect my containers?

How do I log into the portal for bulk supplies?

Once you have spoken to an Inmar representative and plan to utilize the bulk ordering system for on-site inventory, you will receive an email from noreply.amrxgroup@amrxgroup.com.  This email will contain your login credentials and a link directly to the portal as well as ordering instructions.

I never received the email from noreply.amrxgroup@amrxgroup.com what do I need to do

Send an email to take-back@inmar.com with your location name, address, and email.  We will request the welcome email to be re-sent.

What is the difference between ordering on http://www.safemedicinedrop.com and the portal https://portal.americanrxgroup.com/inmar/ ?

http://www.safemedicinedrop.com is Inmar’s internal website.  This site is used to place individual orders (up to 3 containers).  Consumers can order on behalf of themselves, or pharmacists can order on behalf of consumers, and have the containers go directly to consumers’ homes.  The portal is used exclusively for sites to order bulk supplies in quantities of 24 units.

What are the dimensions of bulk orders?

Bulk orders come in case packs of 24 units.  The weight of a case of 24 is 36 lbs and the dimensions of the box are 18” x 19” x 24”. Sites have the capability of ordering a maximum of 4 case packs of 24 units (for a total of 96 units) per form submission.

What is Inmar Intelligence’s Consumer Drug Take-Back Program?

This program offers consumers the ability to safely dispose of unwanted, unused, or expired medication and/or sharps waste.

Why should I dispose of unwanted or expired medications in my home?

Proper disposal of unused drugs saves lives and protects the environment. Unused or expired prescription medications can lead to accidental poisoning, overdose, needlestick injuries and abuse. If unused prescription drugs or needles are thrown in the trash, they can be retrieved and abused, illegally sold, or transmit harmful bloodborne pathogens. Additionally, there are environmental impacts. Flushing unused drugs contaminates the water supply.

Is this service free?

This service is provided at no cost to you.

Should I remove my personal information before disposing of my medication?

When destroying medication, please make every attempt to safeguard your Protected Health Information (PHI). Remove any personally identifiable information on medication labels or product packaging before disposing.

What does Inmar Intelligence trace about me?

We don’t trace anything about you. We use the information entered to send a sharps waste container. We never open the container later.

Is the package I send my medication in opened after I send it?

No, the container is destroyed immediately after being received.

What does Inmar Intelligence report?

We only report how many containers were sent back during the year and the total weight. We do not report anything about you.

I have a question not answered by this website. Is there someone I can contact with a question regarding the program?

Please write to us at take-back@inmar.com with any questions.
